Every Wednesday in November, 10-11.30am
The Supper Room, County Buildings, Wigtown
Craigard Gallery are hosting a five week block of (nude) life drawing sessions throughout November. These sessions each last 90 minutes (with additional time to clear up afterwards). They will be untaught but if there is demand we will also offer taught sessions in addition to these during our next block.
We will offer a variety of poses - starting the session with moving poses to warm up, we will follow up with slightly longer seated or reclined poses for the first half of the sessions. We will finish the session with a longer seated or reclined pose which we will try to replicate each week for those wanting to work on a more detailed piece over a period of time. If artists wish to move about the room during this final longer pose to work from a variety of angles they may do so but care must be taken not to disturb other artists.
As these sessions are untaught it is up to the artist to make sure they bring any easels, papers and drawing/painting materials with them. We will have parameters in place to ensure the safety and comfort of our model with regard to distance between the artist and model etc and we would expect artists to abide by these at all times.
Payment for the whole block (£50 for all 5 x 90min sessions) must be paid in full upfront to secure your place and this will be non-refundable. We are running these sessions as not-for-profit so the fees will be used upfront to cover the costs of room hire and then to pay our life model. We are trying to ensure that we can keep the cost to artists at a minimum but this means we won’t have any reserves to refund any missed sessions. We would still hope that despite this, those booked into these sessions would remain responsible with regard to not attending if they are unwell as there will be artists in attendance with suppressed immune systems.
