Collection: Pamela Grace

Pamela trained as a knitwear designer, gaining an honours associateship at the Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels, working in industry before setting up her own design company in Glasgow which featured in international style exchanges. Always a keen artist with her practice based on drawing,  Pamela taught Art and Design in Further Education, before establishing her professional career as an artist. She then trained as a printmaker and works from the Gracefield Print Studio in Dumfries and is also a member of Edinburgh Printmakers.

“The countryside is a continual source of inspiration to my drawings. The rolling fields and hedgerows, the ancient woodlands and forgotten parklands of Galloway provide continual creative opportunities. My work is based on drawing - realised in pen and ink wash and etchings. It reveals hidden micro-landscapes, glimpses of corners of gardens, allotments, and forgotten greenhouses. Sketches and larger colour drawings are often made on location and then developed in the studio, emboldening elements and using various techniques to explore their potential.”
